Send Files (to Email Addresses)

Modified on Wed, 2 Apr at 8:26 AM

This guide explains how to send files by specifying email addresses. This feature allows you to send data not only to members of your workspace, but also to users in other workspaces, or even to recipients who don’t have a BLAZE Quantum account.

Note: When sending files to recipients who don’t have a BLAZE Quantum account, the process works the same way as using the Link option. Due to end-to-end encryption, BLAZE Quantum cannot send the link via email automatically—you’ll need to share it manually.

Supported Plans

This feature is available on all plans, including the free plan.

1. Getting Started

Log in to BLAZE Quantum and make sure you're on BLAZE Transfer.

2. Send Files

From the left-hand menu, click Send Files.

3. Select Files

Click the area labeled “Drop a file or click to upload” to choose a file from your device, or simply drag and drop files into it. You can upload multiple files at once, but the size limit depends on your plan and usage.

4. Send to: Emails

To send files to email addresses, click on the "Emails" tab.

5. Enter Email Addresses

Enter the recipient’s email address. To add multiple recipients, separate each address using the space, comma, or tab key.

6. Enter a Title

Enter a clear subject, so recipients know what the file is about.

7. Set Retention Period

Set how long the data should be available to the recipients.
The maximum retention period depends on your plan:

  • With the Pro plan or higher, you can send unlimited-size files for up to 30 days.

  • If you set more than 30 days, it will consume your BLAZE Drive storage.

  • Files are automatically deleted after the retention period ends.

8. Send

Add a message (optional), then click Send.

BLAZE Quantum uses end-to-end encryption—files are encrypted in your browser before being uploaded. They’re stored in encrypted “packages” on the server.

Once all files are encrypted and sent, click Close.

Important: If any of the recipients don’t have a BLAZE Quantum account, you’ll need to share the link manually. To maintain end-to-end encryption, we’re unable to send the email containing the link on your behalf.

9-1. Accessing Received Files (For Internal Users)

If the recipient is a member of the same workspace, the package will appear under the Received tab in Files & Portals page.

From the Actions menu, you can:

  • Download: Download all files in the package

  • Details: View package details

  • Share: Forward the package to other members

  • Copy to BLAZE Drive

  • Upload to OneDrive or Google Drive

In the details view, you can browse individual files, preview them, or download them one by one.

9-2. Accessing Received Files (For External Users)

If the recipient is a BLAZE Quantum user but does not share a workspace with the sender, how they access the file depends on the number of workspaces they belong to:

a) Single Workspace:

If the recipient belongs to only one workspace, the package will automatically appear in the Received tab under the Files & Portals page of that workspace.

b) Multiple Workspaces:

If the recipient is a member of more than one workspace, the package will appear on the External Packages page. In this case, they will need to first assign the package to one of their workspaces before accessing it.

9-3. Accessing Received Files (For Non-BLAZE Users)

If any of the recipients don’t have a BLAZE Quantum account, you’ll need to share the link manually. From this link, they can download the files.

Note: For Pro or Premium plans, One-Time Password (OTP) will be activated automatically when accessing the link. Recipients will need to enter their email address to receive the one-time password.
